Vétiver, huile essentielle, ethically harvested
In its native countries of India and Nepal, clever Vetiver is used in an abundance of ways, including household products, food and drink and even as an agricultural tool to protect the countryside from erosion, during monsoon season.
The Vetiveria Zizanoides plant is tall and grassy. Essential oil is extracted from the roots of the plant which grow in strong, intricate systems under the earth. Steam distillation releases a thick, earthy fragranced oil, known as the ‘oil of tranquillity’.
The calming effect of Vetiver makes it a perfect addition to any aromatherapy blend designed to soothe and unwind the body and mind. Particularly good for night time blends, try adding Vetiver to a vaporisation blend and diffusing before bedtime.
